Welcome to Narra Venture Capital's website.
Established in January 2002, Narra Venture Capital (NarraVC) invests in private high-technology companies with potential for accelerated growth. It focuses its investments on companies with defensible barriers to competition, which are normally based on cutting edge technology or their efficient deployment.
In Silicon Valley and similar technology centers, NarraVC invests in companies developing semiconductors and semiconductor-related products, converged communication systems, computing platforms, and software & related services. The firm works with Silicon Valley based partners like Tallwood Venture Capital. Aside from this, NarraVC’s role is to help bring Asia to these investments through introductions to markets or partners.
In the Philippines and around the Asian continent, NarraVC seeks companies which take advantage of the synergy with advanced technology companies. These companies are in software services, electronic manufacturing services, design services, and information systems that are more customized for developing regions.
NarraVC manages two venture capital funds and has an established group of founding Limited Partners led by Dado Banatao, Managing Partner of TallwoodVC, and Ayala Corporation, one of the Philippines’ most respected business conglomerates. The same investors were joined by First Philippine Holdings, Inc. and the Lhuillier Group for Narra Fund II, which was formed in March 2007.
The investment management is led by Dr. Paco Sandejas and his group at BGN Ventures, Inc. (NarraVC's Philippine affiliate). NarraVC is advised by Dado Banatao (Chips&Technologies, S3, TallwoodVC), George Pavlov (Mayfield, TallwoodVC), and Dr. David Bloom (Stanford, Silicon Light Machines, Alces Technologies).
Investments range from one to three million US dollars. In the United States, NarraVC typically joins trusted venture capital co-investors while in Asia and in the Philippines, in particular, it may on occasion also incubate smaller investments.
